Should Arizona’s New Homes Be Required to Have Solar Water Heaters?

Hawaii now requires new homes to have solar water heaters. The solar water heaters cost $6,000, and electric/gas water heaters cost $700. Helps the earth immensely and saves the homeowner at least $50 dollars every month. The savings come to you in the long term, but the benefits start immediately.

What do I think about this new law that’s passed for the islands of Hawaii? Brilliant. And I think Arizona needs to follow suit ASAP!

In times where fossil fuel prices are skyrocketing, we need this change. With the eco-system radically changing in a bad way, we need this change. But not only that, I think this change makes sense. Think about it!

Arizona is a sunbelt state. Tucson is one of the sunniest cities in the US! The sun stays shining so might as well reap the benefits of our location.

A law requiring Arizona’s new homes to be equipped with solar water heaters makes sense, and I’m all for it. Would requiring new homes to have solar panels on the roof be too much to ask for though?
