Take a hike, please!
There are so many positive factors in the Tucson real estate market! One certainly involves the natural beauty surrounding our homes and businesses. Five mountain ranges, an assortment of state and national parks, and numerous wildlife habitats and historical corridors are within and around our community.
Our city offers a variety of options for outdoor enthusiasts, from the casual walker to the experienced hiker. And because winter rains resulted in a fantastic wildflower season this spring, we’re encouraging everyone to go outside, observe nature, and take a walk today!
Tucson sits in a valley surrounded by the Santa Catalina, Santa Rita, Tucson, Rincon and Tortolita mountain ranges. Each range offers stunning scenic vistas and a variety of nature hikes or pleasant strolls among wildflowers. One of my favorite spots for either an early morning or late afternoon quick and easy hike is found in Catalina State Park. This desert park encompasses 5,493 acres at elevations near 3,000 feet. Choose the easy, 1-mile Birding Trail to get a glimpse of the more than 170 species of birds found in the park. But if you’re up for something more challenging check out the complete trail system in the park!
If local parks and short rambles are more your thing, on the east side of town is Agua Caliente Park where there is a warm desert spring and riparian area as well as ranch house, gallery and gift shop.
The two Saguaro National Parks (East and West) surrounding our city are incredible. Take in the grandeur of the massive saguaros against scenic vistas, or walk along trails with petroglyphs. In addition to the hikes there are interpretive trails, galleries, scenic drives and bike paths.
If that’s not enough to choose from, remember the wildflower paths along our beautiful Arizona Trail. The Arizona Trail is a continuous, 800+ mile scenic trail which crosses Arizona, from Mexico to Utah, linking our state’s deserts, mountains and communities. Last year, our senators and congressional leaders applied for National Scenic Trail status for this panoramic western trail with many roots in Tucson. So take a ramble to one of the nearby trail heads.
Tucson is tops in spectacular panoramas of nature. No matter what your skill level or interest, there’s a very good reason for you to take a hike today!
